INTRODUCTION
Our neutrally buoyant ROV sonar umbilical cable, also known as subsea sonar tether, is custom engineered for underwater sonar detection, side scan sonar and marine survey tasks.
Different from ordinary subsea cables, this zero buoyancy ROV sonar tether keeps balanced weight in seawater, neither sinking nor floating upward. It greatly reduces water drag and avoids extra load on ROV, improving the maneuverability of underwater robots during long-time subsea operations.
The umbilical adopts Kevlar aramid fiber reinforcement for high tensile strength. Marine-grade foam PUR outer sheath delivers seawater resistance, hydrolysis resistance and excellent flexibility. Internal shielded twisted pairs guarantee stable, low-interference transmission for sonar acoustic signals.
Shanghai Deru supports full customization: cable structure, conductor gauge, length, outer diameter and connector assembly can be tailored to match different ROV sonar systems, multi-beam sonar and underwater inspection projects.
Typical applications: side scan sonar, underwater acoustic detection, offshore wind farm inspection, oceanographic exploration, subsea pipeline survey and underwater robot monitoring.
