Underwater Camera Cable — Key Features

The underwater camera cable is a purpose-built hybrid cable that carries high-definition video, DC power, and PTZ control signals in a single rugged assembly, eliminating the need for multiple separate lines underwater.


Signal Integrity A precision 75Ω coaxial core ensures 1080P to 4K video transmission over hundreds of meters with zero signal loss, ghosting, or noise. Each coax line features a dual-layer shield — aluminum foil plus tinned copper braid at ≥85% coverage — effectively blocking electromagnetic interference from thruster motors, pumps, shipboard radar, and radio equipment. A clean, stable video feed is maintained regardless of surrounding electrical noise.

Hybrid Structure Multiple tinned copper power conductors and individually shielded twisted-pair control lines are bundled alongside the video coax within a single cable jacket. This enables simultaneous camera power delivery and real-time remote control of pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and auxiliary lighting — all through one streamlined cable run.

IP68 Waterproof The cable is rated for permanent submersion in both seawater and freshwater. Connector ends are vulcanization-molded in a one-piece process, creating a molecular bond that blocks water ingress along conductor interfaces. The outer jacket is hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane, impervious to saltwater corrosion, microbial fouling, hydraulic oil, fuel, and alkaline/acidic solutions commonly encountered at harbor, offshore platform, and industrial inspection sites.

Mechanical Durability A built-in aramid fiber strength member absorbs the cable's own suspended weight and continuous hydrodynamic drag from water currents, protecting internal conductors from elongation or breakage. The PUR jacket withstands repeated abrasion against rocks, steel hull surfaces, and sharp structural edges without cuts or peeling. Minimum dynamic bend radius is 6× outer diameter, allowing tight routing through subsea vehicle cable glands and narrow chassis channels.

Hydrostatic Pressure Resistance For deep-water applications, the cable is engineered with multi-layer armoring and water-blocking gel fillers to withstand hydrostatic pressure at depths of 50m, 100m, 300m, or 1,000m+. The water-blocking design prevents moisture penetration into insulation layers under high pressure, which would otherwise alter capacitance and degrade signal quality.

Neutral Buoyancy Option For ROV-mounted or diver-handheld camera setups, the cable can be configured with a foamed polyethylene layer or microsphere-filled compound to achieve neutral buoyancy in water. The cable neither sinks nor floats — it hovers in place, adding zero extra load to the vehicle and preserving camera attitude stability for smoother footage.

Full-Range Temperature Tolerance Operational across -40°C to +90°C ambient and water temperature. The jacket remains flexible and crack-resistant in sub-zero polar exploration conditions, and does not soften or deform under tropical surface heat and direct sun exposure. TPE and PUR material options are tailored to the target temperature zone.

Custom Configurations Every cable is built to order: core count, conductor gauge, coax impedance, length per reel, connector type, and termination method are all configurable. Delivery options include bare-end cable by the meter, pre-terminated with IP68 subsea connectors, or fully vulcanized molded assemblies ready for immediate deployment.
